The Perfect Future in the life of Mia

My perfect future would be just perfect because I would start off my day in my brand new home. In my home I hear my 2 cats meowing as soon as I walk in my house. In my house I could feel my fuzzy couch where I take 5 hour naps on everyday but half of the time it is being taken up by my beautiful tabby cat Jingle. My days are pretty chill because all I do is come home from taking a bunch of professional pictures and dealing with photoshoots all day. My favorite type of photoshoots are for animals especially cats because I get to touch their soft and fluffy coats all day. On a normal day when I not so stocked up with photography I stay at home and watch TV, Netflix or even YouTube. Near my tv I will have really loud speakers since I like to watch things in my own theater room. In this room I have my very own popcorn machine. I can smell the fresh butter and salt as watch the bright white and yellow puffy balls of corn jump up and down. By the end of the day when I go to sleep I will light out my warm candle that smells so sweet.

Awkward

Have you ever done something pretty bad and regeted it? You fell really bad and you overthink about what you have done.  I recently finished reading the book Awkward by Svetlana Chmakova. This book is a graphic novel and it is made for everyone to read. I can really relate to a lot of what the characters in the book think and feel. In the book Awkward by Svetlana Chmakova the character Penelope Torres or Peppi for short does something like that. Peppi really like art and drawing, but she is also pretty shy and “awkward.” It all started on Pepsi’s first day of her new school, until she stumbles across some people that push her limits. Bam! Something she would have never thought would have happen, happened. She felt annoyed on the outside but guilty on the inside. Later on in the book Peppi finally feels a lot more relieved because something great happened. Peppi is in a club at school and has to deal with her reveres in a different and more competitive club then hers. I really like this book because, I really like graphic novels because I think they are really fun quick reads. This book is a great book for you if you like books like similar books to this type of genre. Such as, Smile or Sister by: Raina Telemeiger. Are you awkward and are you interested in reading this book?

The Hate You Give

Do you have your own thoughts about the world that you kept to you yourself? Well in the book The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas talks about that kind of topic. In this book there is different type of girl that is African American named Starr that lives with her Mom, Dad and some real and step siblings. Starr lives a pretty happy/normal life. She is a really nice girl but most of her friends are white so that was kind of weird for her. Anyways while Starr goes to a party with only 1 person that she knows she is very unaware of what was going to happen next that was going to effect her life a lot. Something happened that she could have never believe happened. Bum, bum, bummmmmm. You’re going to have to read the book to find out what happens next. I think this book shows a great lesson to all readers and this book has amazing thoughts that might be relatable to almost everyone. This book does have a little of foul language but other than that it was still a great book to read. This book is perfect for anyone that is into problems in the world that are affecting certain genders, races and cultures. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because it look me a little while to get the meaning of the book and reading it but afterwards I discovered that this book has great meanings to it and this would be a nice book for teens or adults to read.

Quarter 1 Refections

This quarter went by really fast. I feel like the next couple months are going to go my even faster. Pretty soon I will be in high school and so will all of my best friends will too.  In my opinion this quarter for me was pretty good because I didn’t get any falcon fouls1 and I felt really comfortable in all my classes with the people around me. My grades are not as bad as I thought they were going to be and I did put a lot more effort in all my work this year. I feel like I asked for more help this year compared to all my other years at school in my whole life. I tried my best to finish as most as the work I can do but I will still happy that I tried instead of just giving up. My goals for this quarter  were to participate, ask for help when I need it and to have a great mindset towards my teachers and class work. When I got my report card for the quarter I was actually a little happy because my grades are up and they are still going up, I felt like I had a more positive attitude towards this year compared to last year and years before. I also still had the feeling where I could have done better in most subjects compared to others. Next quarter my goals are going to be to participate more and to get my stuff done and double check my work.

*falcon fouls- a peice of paper in my school that you get when you don’t follow any basic rules like, no eating in class, being late, misbehavior, inappropriate language,etc..

WE REAL COOL Poem and The Outsiders

I read the poem We Real Cool by Gwendolyn Brooks. This poem really made me think a lot about The Outsiders and about the characters thoughts and feelings. This poem has a lot of the same actions and emotions that were included in both the book and movie The Outsiders. I pick two of my most important connections that I thought made the most sense and went a lot more with the book and the movie.A line in the poem that really stood out to me was “We sing sin” because I thought that this line had a huge connection to what I thought went along with in it both the book and the movie.  The line made me think of all the trouble that the greasers went through because the line makes me think that the greasers all sing trouble or they all sins they committed. This line of the poem made me think of The Outsiders because this made me think of the time in both the book and the movie when Dally stole movie from a convenient store and then was chased down by the cops. All you could hear was Dally panting because he was out of breath and the police car sirens screaming super loud. I thought that the line went along with that part because all the greasers have committed sins and crimes and a whole lot of bad things, I also thought that the line in the poem said “ we sing sin” so I thought that maybe the sirens were kind of like “singing” a song of sin because Dally did something bad. A second line that I though connected to the movie and the book was the line “ we real cool.” I liked this line because made me think of so many parts in the book and the movie where all the greasers felt like a family and they were there for each other and they felt real cool together. They think they look all tough around the socs because they think their group is a lot bigger than the socs. One specific part that I thought in the book and in the movie where I thought the quote “ we real cool” fits along perfectly was when the greasers were getting ready to go to the rumble to fight against the socs to see who wins. On the way there the greasers were doing a whole lot of backflips to impress each other and they were mocking the socs too. They all thought they were really tough and real cool too. This poem really had a lot of connections from the book and the movie because the poem actually sounded like a poem that the greasers would think of or make. I really liked this poem because it was short but didn’t need a whole lot to describe connections or details to already have for you in the poem when you can think for you in your head. This is why I chose/read the poem We Real Cool.

The Outsiders Book to Movie Comparison

The Outsiders book and movie have a lot of similarities and differences and the characters and actors show a lot of details. Some similarities are that both book and movie are based on the same locations the characters went to, they both included the poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost. Sadly, Johnny and Dally die in both book and movie. Cherry says “Things are rough all over.” in both things. The quote “Stay Gold Ponyboy.” appears in both book and movie. In both the book and movie Johnny killed Bob the Soc and him and Ponyboy had to ask Dally for help then they when on a train to New York to go to an old abandoned church, then they each cut their hair but only Ponyboy bleached it. There were a lot more things that both of the book and movie had in common, but these are the main points in the book that are important in the story.

Some differences from the book and the movie are that in the beginning of the movie it starts off with the drive in movie where Dally, Ponyboy and Johnny meet Cherry Valance. In the book it starts off with Ponyboy walking home from the movies. Second, Darry pushed Ponyboy down instead of slapping him like in the book. Third, Cherry Valance never said “don't talk to me at school” to Ponyboy. Ponyboy and Johnny never went to court for killing Bob. Next the person Paul Newman (A person that Ponyboy wishes to be) wasn't mentioned in the movie. The last difference I noticed from the movie and book was that in the movie it never mentioned that PonyBoy got beat up by the socs. These are all the differences that I noticed in the movie that were different to the book.

The characters from the book are kind of like the characters that I pictured in my head when I was reading the book. In the movie I felt like the characters had good personalities and they bring more details and different points of view to the story. I know that this movie is old and I wish that we can remake this movie with new actors and actresses to make it more detailed and more modern like. I feel like the book was a lot more specific than the movie because in the movie there were not a lot of the same scenes like in the book. I really enjoyed reading the book then watching the movie because I can compare and contrast the similarities and the differences and I can have my own opinion about the book and movie. These are just some thoughts that I had about the movie and the book.

This World We Live In

Have you ever wondered if one day your life would just completely change in a way you would have never believed in? Well in the book This World We Live In you can find out Miranda’s story. Miranda lived in a small home with her mom, two brothers Matt and Jon and their cat Horton. Miranda has a weird family especially because her parents are divorced. She thought that nothing bad would happen to her or her weird family because all she was thinking about was having a new little baby sister Rachel, but that all was a dream because one day a meteor hit the moon. This effected the climate, Electricity and sources of many things like food, water and so many people died because of this too. Miranda has to try her best to keep her family, friends and cat all safe and healthy during this time. The story’s genre would be young adult/realistic fiction. This story has so many shocking parts and drama along the way. What are the odds for Miranda and her family? What would you do if you were in Miranda’s shoes? Would you read this book?

A Qoute That Bests Decscribes Me

I choose a quote about being different because I feel like I don’t have to be like everyone else when I can just be myself. The quote I chose is “I always loved the idea not being what people expect me to be.” -Dita Von Teese. I love this quote because it’s about me and I can connect to it a lot. This quote makes me me by just by the simplest way I style my hair or dress like in the morning. It’s not  like I don’t like the way that people are or act like, it’s because there always need to be that one different person that everyone looks up to and ways to be like. When I found this quote right away I said “that’s me.” I like quotes because it is like a very inspiring sentence. Just by the simplest words can make a really big change in anyone’s life.

My Identity

I will never completely know who I actually am because I am still getting older and have not yet experienced many things but I know that my identity is who I am not what I do in life. I only know the basic stuff about me. Well I am Mexican/American and also Christian. In my family I am known as a daughter or a sister to 5 other siblings. My gender is a girl/women and another part of my identity is that I am a friend\best friend or student a school. I have 2 pet cats named Jingle (girl) and Louis (boy). In my moms side of the family I am an Aunt to my really silly, joyful nephew. Other things that are part of my identity are, I am known as a granddaughter, goddaughter, and a cousin. Some adjectives that make me, me are shy, awkward and creative. I have a lot of mixed thoughts about things. One of my altime favorite hobbys playing the Flute. I love playing that instrument because I can play a lot of songs people know like Harry Potter, Star Wars and a lot of popular Christmas songs. I guess you can say that I am a musican. Well these are a lot of things that make me, me.

In 10 years from now

In 10 years I hope to been have able to go to college at the Illinois College of Photography because when I grow up I want to be a photographer, I hope to have tried my best there too. It has always been one of dreams to be a professional photographer. I will have different types of cameras and lenses for certain pictures. I want to take pictures of food, nature, animals and people. With the money I make from taking pictures of things, plus the money I saved for a long time I want to buy a modern house. Next to my house I want to have neighbors that are my best friends so I can invite my friends over all the time. To keep me company at home I am going to have a pet cat named Whiskers. I want to spend my life staying healthy, enjoying my family, staying safe and having fun taking pictures.

An Unpleasant Ride

I felt like I was falling out of the sky! On a hot summer day in July my family and I decided to go to an amusement park. I told my self that when my family and I get there I am going to ride on all of the rides. I was kinda scared. About an hour later we finally arrived there, but the first thing that caught my eye was a big tall ride. The sign read, The Giant Drop. I did not have a good feeling about this ride.  I also had a fear of heights too at the time. To get my mind off this ride I went on some other rides in the mean time. 30 minutes pasted by until it came to the time where I was standing in line for the ride. Then it has come to the time where I am standing in line for the ride, but before I knew it I was strapped onto the seat.  All I was thinking was ''There is no going back now.''It only took the ride a minute to get to the top. Then before I could even finishing  blinking I hear this very loud click sound sound and then all of us sudden the ride zooms down really fast. At that moment I screamed my lungs out that when I got off the ride I couldn't even talk. I couldn't feel my legs or feet when I got off the ride. There was a slit bit of joy that I was feeling because I finally got over my fear or heights and now I can saw that I went on The Giant Drop. I was also very dizzy for some reason, but then all I wanted to do was go home.
